Our Favorite Real Food Recipes

If you couldn’t tell by now…Sara and I love food and we love to cook. While we enjoy playing in the kitchen and creating our own recipes, we also love other food blogs and frequently try other people’s recipes. We follow other bloggers to learn new things, get ideas and just to try new recipes. Food bloggers put out some amazing stuff and we have a few that we love to follow. Our hope is that we are one of your favorites.

So, with today’s post we want to showcase some of our favorite recipes that aren’t ours. As well as say Thank You  to our fellow food bloggers for your dedication and creativity. We know it’s not easy to keep your food and blog fun and fresh.

Without further ado, here are some of our favorites. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Chicken Piccata

By: Get Off Your Tush and Cook

This chicken piccata recipe might be perfect. I am not exaggerating when I say I make it at least once every couple of weeks. It gives you the classic chicken piccata taste you crave, without all the excess butter and breading. I wish I could say I came up with it, but all the credit goes to Get Off Your Tush and Cook. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!

Creamy Chicken Quinoa and Broccoli Casserole

By: Pinch of Yum

This casserole is delicious and has become a go to in my house. It is warm and comforting. It is the perfect comfort food fix without the guilt.

Pulled Pork in a Crockpot

By: 100 Days of Real Food

As a Southerner that has recently found myself living in New England, I will admit one of the things I miss most about home is the food. Nothing beats good southern cooking. My definition of Southern food would probably be considered coastal southern or low country cuisine. After spending 10 years in Charleston, SC, the foods I miss the most are Shrimp and Grits, real Southern Biscuits, and good Carolina BBQ. This crockpot pulled pork recipe is delicious and totally gives me the BBQ fix I crave!

 Paleo Orange Chicken

By: Paleo Cupboard

I adore Chinese food. I used to have a bad habit of ordering it, a lot. When we started our clean eating journey, I had to find an alternative. Even though our local Chinese food place serve organic options (it’s pretty awesome actually) I know I needed a way to clean up that part of my diet and habits. So, I found this recipes from Paleo Cupboard and never looked back. It’s is delicious and simple. I serve it with brown rice and steamed broccoli. Perfect substitute for Chinese take out.

Sauteed Kale

By: He and She Eat Clean

My sister in law introduced me to this recipe. She made it one weekend when we were visiting. Kale is a fairly new but welcome addition to my cooking repertoire.  But I had never made it this way before. I love the garlicy flavor. The kale does a really good job standing up to the heat and stays firm enough to not get slimy like spinach can. My daughter even loves this!

Black Bean and Sweet Potato Casserole

By: Clean Eating Chelsey

This recipe brings together almost all of my new clean eating favorites. These includes, sweet potato, black beans and one pot meals. Also, you’ll see from the pictures Chelsey also add Brussels Sprouts, which I do as well because they are yummy.
