When I was a kid I used to love those little pre-flavored oatmeal packets you could buy at the grocery store. If I remember correctly Apples and Cinnamon was my favorite. Just add water, pop it in the microwave, and a few minutes later you were dining on the warm creamy goodness. Unfortunately, as it turn out I was also dining on a wonderful blend of chemicals and preservatives. Yum…. It was with this love of oatmeal from my childhood that we set out to make a tasty clean oatmeal recipe. The result…an easy, creamy, delicious, and clean version your family is sure to love!

We tried this recipe as part of the 7 day challenge and my teenagers loved this oatmeal recipe. I followed everything as written except we did not feel a need to add the honey and used one apple instead of two. We did prepare recipe with either milk or rice milk, and though slight consistency difference, just as yummy with either milk.
Pam, I am so happy to hear your family loved the recipe! That is a great suggestion about leaving out the honey. While some people prefer their oatmeal a little sweeter, it is definitely not required to make the recipe delicious.
