I don’t know about you but sometime I struggle to come up with good ideas for lunches that can be takes to school or work. it seems like it is so easy to get in a rut and make the same thing day after day. Unfortunately, when that happens, we quickly become sick of whatever food it is we are bringing. Even when it is something we love. Therefore here at My Clean Kitchen we have been trying to come up with some healthy, tasty, and easy to make lunch options for you. Our latest creation…Whole Wheat BLT Pitas! Hope you enjoy!!!
Local Ingredient: Basil (from my own plant) Mozzarella Cheese (from a local cheese shop)
Ingredients
2 whole wheat pitas
2 medium tomatoes, sliced
4 thick slices of fresh mozzarella, cut in half
8 slices of turkey bacon, cooked
1/4 cup spinach pesto
Instructions
- Cut the whole wheat pitas in half.
- Spread the pesto on the inside of the pitas.
- Stuff each pita with 2 slices of tomato, 2 slices of mozzarella, and 2 slices of turkey bacon.
