I don’t know about you, but brown rice has always been one of those ingredients that gives me difficulty. Well, that was until I discovered this foolproof method! It is simple and the rice comes out perfect every time.
This method is so simple, once you learn it you will never forget. All you do is boil 1 cup of rice in 12 cups of water for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes you drain the rice, return it to the pot, cover and let sit for an additional 10 minutes. After 10 minutes fluff with your fork and poof…perfect brown rice!
Ingredients
1 cup brown rice, uncooked
12 cups water
sea salt, to taste
Instructions
- Pour the 12 cups of water in a large stock pot.
- Add the rice and bring to a boil. Allow to boil uncovered for 30 minutes.
- Drain the rice in a colander.
- Return the rice to the stock pot, cover, and allow to steam for 10 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork. Season with sea salt and serve.
