So, in the past, before I decided to “clean” up my diet, I used the old canned sweetened condensed milk in my recipes, but…now I know better. So I did a bunch of research and some homework and figured out an excellent substitution. Yes, you’ll think its weird, but it works. And – it works for most types of milk, I used Almond Milk for this recipe to stay Paleo Friendly. But I also tested it with Cow’s Milk and that works great too. Soy Milk, would work also. However, its not recommended for whole Cow’s Milk. I used skim.
Ingredients
2 Cups Milk (We used Almond Milk)
1 Cup Unsweetened Raisins
Instructions
- Combine the raisins and the milk and cover.
- Refrigerate for 24-48 hours
- Using a sieve or strainer, strain the milk into a clean vessel until ready to use. Use within 30 minutes - 1 hour of straining.
