Decadently Dark Chocolate Dipped Apples

October 29, 2013 by Jessica 1 Comment

So..if you saw Sunday’s post about our little fall outing you will understand why today we are making chocolate dipped apples. In hindsight….we may have gone a little overboard on the apple picking. But who wouldn’t…picking apples is soo much fun, it’s easy to forget that you actually are going to need to figure out something to do with them after! So I apologize in advance if we post a few apple recipes this week. But we have to do something with them I guess! Luckily we all like apples, a lot.

Local Ingredient: Fresh Fuji Apples

  • We started of by using 6 fresh picked Fuji apples.
  • We stuck sticks through the bottom of our apples.
  • Then we melted our dark chocolate in a double boiler.
  • Next, we set up our apple assembly station with the toasted coconut and toasted almond slices.
  • We rolled our apples in the melted chocolate, making sure to only coat each apple once.
  • Then we rolled the chocolate covered apples in either the toasted coconut or almond slices.
  • We repeated this process for the remaining 5 apples.
  • We placed the finished apples on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. We put them in the refrigerator for 1 hour to cool, or until the chocolate had hardened.

The toasted coconut version was out of this world. I could eat this every day as a snack!
