One of my favorite things to do at the holidays is a Charcuterie Spread. I have a friend – she shall remain nameless – who collects cheese and charcuterie boards. I, for one, think its a fabulous thing to collect. Mostly because – HOW FUN, but also because I can borrow them! She graciously lent her bounty for my Holiday Charcuterie, and I’m so thankful. One of the things I love most about Charcuterie, is that there is no right way to do it. This is my interpretation and preference of Charcuterie, but you can really add whatever you want.
Over the summer, my hubby and I stayed at a fancy hotel in Florida while our daughter sweated it out at nature camp (its a hard life.) We ate at the lobby farm to table restaurant a few times while we were there. This was mostly because they had an AMAZING charcuterie plate. Our favorite part of the dish was the honey comb. It was delectable and so delicious with the spicy Genoa ham. I looked everywhere for honey comb for this spread, but alas I couldn’t find it. But, if you can locate it near you, I definitely recommend adding it. Its tasty but also beautiful.
Charcuterie is my go to holiday appetizer because of three reason;
1 – I don’t have to cook it.
2 – Its simple and beautiful.
3 – There’s something for everyone.
