Avocado Chicken Salad

October 15, 2013 by Jessica 1 Comment

I love this stuff. It is so easy to make and people love it! The very first time I made this recipe I brought it over to a friends house for a picnic. Before the day was over I had 5 people ask me for the recipe. The avocado is so creamy that you don’t even miss the mayo in traditional chicken salad. And bonus…unlike mayo you don’t have to worry about it spoiling on a hot day!

Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts

October 15, 2013 by Jessica 2 Comments

Remember when you were a kid and you thought Brussel Sprouts were gross? I wonder…did we ever even try them or were we just so pre-programmed to think that way that we just came to believe they were disgusting without even taking a bite? Poor Burssel Sprouts…they never even stood a chance…not with the legions of hating kids and skeptical adults. I think we should all take a stand and change this tragic tide of Brussel Sprout hating! They are delicious! I am talking to you now as a recovering Brussel Sprout hater. Yes…I will admit it. I too once prejudged this poor misunderstood vegetable. But not anymore!

Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal

October 15, 2013 by Jessica 2 Comments

When I was a kid I used to love those little pre-flavored oatmeal packets you could buy at the grocery store. If I remember correctly Apples and Cinnamon was my favorite. Just add water, pop it in the microwave, and a few minutes later you were dining on the warm creamy goodness. Unfortunately, as it turn out I was also dining on a wonderful blend of chemicals and preservatives. Yum…. It was with this love of oatmeal from my childhood that we set out to make a tasty clean oatmeal recipe. The result…an easy, creamy, delicious, and clean version your family is sure to love!

Spaghetti Squash with Meat Sauce

October 15, 2013 by Jessica 2 Comments

Isn’t nature funny. I mean…a squash that cooks like spaghetti?!?! It’s almost like nature knew that one day we would need a great way to replace all that unhealthy pasta we have been eating. Okay…Okay…I do realize this is not the case, nature didn’t make the squash just so that we would stop eating white flour pasta…but wouldn’t it be cool if it did? Sorry these are just the silly things I think about sometimes.

Homemade Sweetened Condensed Milk

October 13, 2013 by Jessica 1 Comment

So, in the past, before I decided to “clean” up my diet, I used the old canned sweetened condensed milk in my recipes, but…now I know better. So I did a bunch of research and some homework and figured out an excellent substitution. Yes, you’ll think its weird, but it works. And – it works…

Chai Tea Latte

October 13, 2013 by Jessica 3 Comments

I made my favorite today, Chai Tea Latte. I’m a confessed addict of the Chai Tea Latte. My family can attest to it. In preschool last year, my 4 year old’s classroom did a Mother’s Day activity where the teachers asked the kids questions about their Moms. Aside from being 5 years old, 50 pounds…
